Tails includes LibreOffice, a powerful office suite which embeds several tools:
- Writer, a word processor
- Calc, a spreasheet application
- Impress, a presentation engine
- Draw, a drawing and flowcharting application
To start LibreOffice choose .
The LibreOffice website provides complete user guides for each of these tools, translated into several languages.
To use LibreOffice in your language, you can
install the libreoffice-l10n-lang
package using the Additional Software
feature. Replace lang with the code
for your language. For example, es for Spanish or de
for German.
Most files contain metadata, which is information used to describe, identify, categorize, and sort files. For example:
- Cameras record data about when and where a picture was taken and what camera was used.
- Office documents automatically add author and company information to texts and spreadsheets.
Use mat2 to clean metadata from your files before publishing or sharing them:
- Open the Files browser.
- Navigate to the folder containing the files that you want to remove metadata from.
- Select the files that you want to remove metadata from.
- Right-click (on Mac, click with two fingers) on the files and choose Remove metadata.
