Is there a way to remaster the ISO to CD size?

I have difficuty in finding the source code for the distro, and some of applications in the ISO seems to be not very usfull for the purpose. For example, GIMP. LibreOffice . And the GUI seems to be heavy for the purpose as GNOME is not exactly the lightest around.

There is any plans in chnaging the GUI to LXDE or XFCE, which will enable the distro to run on older machine, which is more popular in developing countries where by people actually needs a anonymous distro.

Yes, but this won't be Tails anymore. This will be a fork. See build and http://live.debian.net/.

See git.

I think you lack some information about the purpose. See design for details.

As the distro and its component packages have matured, they have grown. This is quite normal. Tails was kept <CD size for as long as could be done without eroding its usefulness. That time has now passed.

There are evidently some packages which you don't use. Having read the other threads you might have seen that forking Tails is not your only option. You could remove those packages which you don't use, then re-spin your own ISO. How cool is that?! But wait! There's more! The Tails developers have even written instructions to guide you through the process! OMG!

Still, as you have noted, if you don't like Tails, you are always at liberty to piss off
